Land Between The Lakes

315 students met their Accelerated Reader Goal for the Spring and were given the opportunity to visit the Nature Center at Land Between the Lakes. The students were able to learn about different wildlife animals and take a beautiful hike to the lake.

The Infinite Campus/Parent Portal provides parents/guardians with access to information such as attendance, grades, schedules, assignments, etc.
This information available varies depending on grade level.

Blazerpalooza

After taking the Winter MAPS Test, students who scored above grade level in one area and improved in another area was invited to attend SHS Blazerpalooza. Students had a blast dancing in gym, decorating delicious cookings, participating in a book/prize walk, making s'mores, getting their face painted, and playing Minecraft.

Hard Work Cafe

On January 30, 2016 students who scored a Proficient or Distinguished on specific assignments were invited to attend the Hard Work Cafe. The students were able to experience a 50's Diner with Bacon Cheeseburgers and Milk Shakes. Students also competed in a hula hoop contest, a Bubble Blowing Contest, and learned how to play checkers.

Day of Thanks

The staff at South Heights honored our students by showing how thankful we are for them. Staff was videoed telling students how grateful we are for them, students were taken on a hay ride, served hot chocolate, and had a random dance.

College Tours

South Heights students have been busy this fall visiting colleges in Western Kentucky and Southern Indiana. The students were taken on tours to see and learn about the possibilities they have for their futures. After touring the colleges and the different departments, the students have a clearer vision and have started to establish goals for themselves when they graduate high school.

Transportation Day

Transportation Day, sponsored by Audubon Chrysler, was held at South Heights Elementary School on October 4 in conjunction with the 1000 Word Project. The students had the opportunity to learn about the difference between a car, van, truck, SUV, and convertible.
